Privacy

1. What we collect

It depends on what you do on the site.

• Visiting the site: our host, Cloudflare, handles basic technical details such as your IP address and browser type to deliver pages and block attacks. We use no advertising or tracking cookies.
• Your light or dark mode choice is saved in your own browser. It is not a cookie and is never sent to us.
• Emailing us: your email address and what you write.
• Booking a call: booking happens on Cal.com, which collects your name, email, any phone number you give and your answers to its questions, and passes them to us so we can hold the call.
• Kini and the Leak Calculator (when available): your answers and results, saved under a random code. No name is needed. Your email only if you ask us to send your report.
• Paid upgrades (when available): Stripe handles payment. We never see your full card number. We receive your email and what you bought.
• Request and contact forms (when available): the details you type.
• Your country, which Cloudflare provides, is used only to show the right price. It is never stored.

2. Why we collect it

• To reply to you and hold the calls you book.
• To give you your Kini and Leak Calculator results, and deliver what you buy.
• To keep the site safe and working.
• To improve Kini and the Leak Calculator, using totals and patterns without names.

3. How long we keep it

• Kini and Leak Calculator sessions without a purchase: deleted after 12 months.
• Invoices and payment records: as long as Canadian tax law requires.
• Messages sent through the Succession page: deleted after 24 months, or sooner if you ask.
• Emails and call notes: only as long as the work needs, then deleted.

4. Who we share it with

Only with the services that run the site and the business, and only what each one needs: Cloudflare (hosting and security), Cal.com (bookings), Zoho (email), and when those features are available, Resend (sending email), Stripe (payments) and Anthropic (the Claude AI that writes Kini's explanations, without your name). Some of these companies store information outside Canada, for example in the United States.

We never sell your information. Anything you share with Kinward Advisory or Kini is never used for Dave's personal search to buy a business.

5. See or delete your data

You can ask to see the information we hold about you, correct it, or delete it. Email us and we will reply within 30 days. Kini will also have a Delete my data link on your results.

6. Email and consent (CASL)

We only send news or tips by email if you tick an unticked box to say yes. Every such email has an unsubscribe link. Replies to your own questions and booking confirmations are not marketing.

7. Analytics and cookies

The site sets no tracking or advertising cookies. If we measure visits, we use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which counts visits without cookies. Cloudflare may use a strictly necessary cookie to protect the site from bots. Cal.com, where you book calls, sets its own cookies under its own privacy policy.
